Privacy Policy

Overview

qrli.app ("we", "us", or "our") is a free QR code generator. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information.

Information We Collect

Without an account (static QR codes): QR codes are generated entirely within your browser. The data you enter (URLs, WiFi credentials, contact information, etc.) is never sent to our servers and is not stored by us. The one exception is the optional "Shorten URL" toggle for URL QR codes: enabling it sends the destination URL to our server to create a short link (qrli.app/s/<code>), which we store along with your IP address (used only to rate-limit abuse of this anonymous feature) indefinitely, since there's no account to delete it from.

With an account (link pages, file QRs, and — with Qrli Pro — dynamic QR codes & scan analytics): When you create an account, we store the following in order to provide the service:

  • Your email address and encrypted password
  • QR codes you create and their destination URLs
  • Scan events: timestamp, device type (mobile/desktop/tablet), and country code derived from IP address — IP addresses themselves are not stored
  • Link-in-bio pages: title, bio text, and links you add

Qrli Pro subscribers: billing is handled entirely by our payment processor, Lemon Squeezy, acting as our Merchant of Record. We store your subscription status and Lemon Squeezy customer ID; we never receive or store your card number or other full payment details. Event Hub pages (photos & RSVPs): if you create an Event Hub, guests you invite can upload photos and RSVP (name and party size) without needing an account of their own. Uploaded photos are visible to anyone with the event link and are automatically deleted after a limited retention window (shown on the event page). As the event host, you can delete individual photos or the whole event hub at any time.

You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from your dashboard settings.

We may also collect limited, non-personal analytics data automatically, including:

  • Browser type and version
  • Operating system
  • Pages visited and time spent on pages
  • Referring website
  • General geographic region (country/city level)

This data is collected in aggregate and cannot be used to identify you personally.

Cookies

qrli.app itself does not use cookies for tracking. However, third-party services we use (such as Google AdSense and Google Analytics) may place cookies on your device to serve relevant advertising and measure site performance.

You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings or by using the NAI opt-out tool.

Google AdSense & Advertising

We use Google AdSense to display advertisements on qrli.app. Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to our site and other sites on the internet.

Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visit to qrli.app and other sites on the internet. You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Ads Settings.

Analytics

We may use Google Analytics to understand how visitors interact with qrli.app. This service collects anonymized data such as page views, session duration, and traffic sources. No personally identifiable information is collected through analytics.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We share data only with the service providers needed to run qrli.app — Supabase (database and authentication hosting), Lemon Squeezy (Pro subscription billing), and Google (Analytics and AdSense, as outlined above) — or as required by law.

Children's Privacy

qrli.app is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

Your Rights

If you have an account, you can access, correct, or export your data at any time from your dashboard, and delete your account and all associated data (QR codes, link pages, scan history) from your dashboard settings. Static QR codes generated without an account are never sent to or stored on our servers, so there is nothing for us to hold or delete in that case.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of qrli.app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
